The Papillion Creative Arts Academy is a place for children and youth to learn and explore the arts in an encouraging and positive environment.  At PCAA we celebrate and nurture creative expression as a way to honor the gifts of beauty, imagination, and joy that God gives each of us!

Papillion Creative Arts Summer Camp – Registration is Open!

The 2026 Camp is July 20-24 from 9AM – 1:30PM for grades 4-8 Registration is $250 and includes the Camp T-shirt Register before May 1st to save $50!

PCAA Summer Camp is a fantastic week of exploring a variety of creative arts like theater, music, and art with local artist educators — we’ll have a lunch break with games and rec time — and a Friday Fun Day! There will also be a Summer Camp T-shirt for you to take home at the end of the week — the perfect way to show your friends what you were up to during the summer!

Registration is open to students going into 4th -8th grade and is already available online at www.stpaulspapio.org — and if you register by May 1st you save $50! If you have questions or would like more information, please let Rebecca Hjelle-Penner know, and feel free to share this with your friends and neighbors. We hope lots of you will join us for the fun this July!


Papillion Creative Arts Spring Semester – Registration is Open

Spring Semester Classes will start on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 – April 14, 2026.

We’re so excited for the upcoming semester of classes at the Papillion Creative Arts Academy, and we’re thrilled to have you joining us! Below is the Registration Form & Class Descriptions for the Spring 2026 Semester, let the creativity & fun begin!

Class Descriptions

5pm Page to Stage: Beginning Acting (Grades 2-5) Rebecca Hjelle-Penner
Step into the spotlight! This fun and energetic class introduces students to the basics of acting through games, improv, and a short play. They’ll build confidence, creativity, and teamwork while learning how to express themselves on stage. Perfect for young performers – or anyone who loves to use their imagination!

5pm Create Your Own Comic Book! (Grades 4-8) Josh Nichol-Caddy
Do you love to create original characters?  Do you love to tell stories?  In our Create Your Own Comic Book class, students will dive into the world of their imagination as they design unique characters and build their very own storylines! Each week introduces a new skill—from character development and world-building to panel layout and visual storytelling. By the end of the semester, every student will have created a comic book to proudly share at the PCAA Community Showcase.  It’s the perfect class for creative thinkers, budding artists, and storytellers of all kinds!

5pm-7pm Culinary Arts: Cook & Create (Grade 5-8, Max 10 students, $200) Anne Munter
Ready to level-up in the kitchen?  This is a hands-on cooking class that teaches students essential skills – from chopping and measuring to following a recipe and plating like a pro.  Students will make a variety of dishes, learn kitchen safety, and gain confidence to cook for themselves.  No experience needed – just a love for good food and creativity!  Students will eat during class so, please let us know if you have any food allergies when you register.  NOTE: This class is open to new and experienced students, and includes all new recipes this semester!

6pm Page to Stage: Advanced Acting (Grades 5-9) Rebecca Hjelle-Penner
Take your acting to the next level! This advanced class is designed for students with previous acting experience (school programs, community theater, PCAA classes/camps, etc.) who want to strengthen their skills through challenging scenes, character development, script analysis, and ensemble work. This semester students will also have an opportunity to direct their peers in short scenes! This class is perfect for performers who are ready to grow their theatrical skills!

6pm Art Exploration (Grade 2-5) Sara Marquiss
Dive into your creativity and try something new! This dynamic art class gives students the chance to experiment with a variety of mediums and techniques – from drawing and painting to mixed media and sculpture. With a focus on personal expression and artistic growth, each project invites students to explore their unique style and expand their skills. No pressure – just plenty of room to create and discover!

6pm Crochet Character Creations (Grades 4 – Adult, Must have some crochet experience!) Lara Renken
Bring your crochet skills to life—literally! In this class, experienced crocheters will learn how to create a variety of crochet characters. Each session will focus on techniques for shaping bodies, adding expressive features, and incorporating fun details that give your character personality. With guidance and room for imagination, participants will create custom, handmade characters to take home—along with the skills and confidence to design many more!
