Papillion Creative Arts Academy
The Papillion Creative Arts Academy is a place for children and youth to learn and explore the arts in an encouraging and positive environment. At PCAA we celebrate and nurture creative expression as a way to honor the gifts of beauty, imagination, and joy that God gives each of us!

Papillion Creative Arts Summer Camp!
2025 Camp Dates: July 21st – 25th!
Come explore the creative arts with us — each day campers will participate in 3 different creative arts classes including theater, art, and magic!
July 21st-25th from 9am-1:30pm
St. Paul’s UMC — 324 S Jackson St. Papillion, NE
Open to students going into Grades 4-8
$250 includes a Camp T-shirt, daily snacks, and our Friday Fun Day activity!
Register before May 1st and save $50!
Campers should wear close-toed shoes and bring their own sack lunch and water bottle each day — we’ll provide the rest!

Spring 2025 Class Descriptions
5pm — Page to Stage: Acting (Grades 2-5) TEACHER: Rebecca Hjelle-Penner
Acting class, students will learn how they can use their body, voice, and imagination to help develop characters for the stage. They will also learn about stage directions, auditioning, and the best strategies for memorizing lines. At the end of the semester, students will bring their characters from the pages of their script to the stage at the PCAA Community Showcase!
5pm — Art Exploration: Painting & Drawing (K & 1st Grade) TEACHER: Sara Marquiss
In the Art Exploration: Painting & Drawing class, students will explore their artistic side through painting and drawing. This class will allow students to experiment and build skills in each of these areas through a variety of projects. At the end of the semester, students will display their favorite artwork at the PCAA Community Showcase!
5pm — Beginning Embroidery (5th Grade – Adults) TEACHERS: Nancy Peters & Rhonda Nicklin
In the Beginning Embroidery class, students will have an opportunity to learn a variety of techniques and stitches for creating their very own embroidered pieces. Each week students will learn about the best practices and share their progress with their fellow students. This is a great opportunity to learn a new skill, meet new friends, and create something you’ll enjoy for years to come! At the end of the semester students will showcase their work at the PCAA Community Showcase!
5pm — Culinary Arts: Cooking 101 (Grades 4-8) TEACHER: Anne Munter
Note: This is an advanced classes for students who have already completed a Cooking Class with PCAA!
Each week students will refine their kitchen skills while they make something delicious from scratch. Students will get to taste their creations and make notes on their recipe cards so they can continue to perfect it for family and friends at home! At the end of the semester students will cater the PCAA Community Showcase Reception! Classes will meet for 2 hours (5-7pm) each week and class size is limited to 10 students. ($200 Registration Fee)
6pm — Create Your Own Comic Book! (Grades 4-8) TEACHER: Josh Nichol-Caddy
Do you love to create original characters? Do you love to tell stories? In this Create Your Own Comic Book class, students will use their imaginations to create their very own characters and storyline! Each week they will focus on different skills and by the end of the semester they will have their very own comic book to share at the PCAA Community Showcase!
